The Sanctuary of Nossa Sr.ª da Piedade is the greatest asset of this parish of Sanfins do Douro. With five chapels, built in the second half of the 19th century, it served in the past as the seat of a Portuguese fort, of which some remains can still be seen, including two funerary stelae with inscriptions.

The main chapel, where the image of the patron saint is on display, is an authentic place of worship with a large influx of pilgrims. Here there is also a viewpoint with a breathtaking view over the Douro region.
